[Modules] Task "Check Off" in Modules

I have had several students request that they have the ability to "check off" and "flag" certain items within a modules.  They would like to be able to "check off" when something is completed and flag things to come back to, similar to an email inbox.

After submitting assignments, these should be crossed out on modules or have a checkmark next to them.

I do not like how I am unable to check off my own blocks in the Module list. There should be check-off-boxes that the student (themselves) can check off on their own. The green check marks are totally unusable to how I use Canvas.
