The publish options currently available at the module level make it difficult to keep "internal facing" or "for teachers only" items unpublished. Clearly after publishing an entire module individual items can be unpublished, but when courses move between instructors or are taught by those with less Canvas experience this can be a risk.
Add a new option to the Publish dropdown - "Set as Never Publish". This would allow an item to be ignored when utilizing the "Publish module and all items" option. This probably results in a "Clear Never Publish" option also that appears when an item is in "Never Publish" status. The option should be available at the Module and Item level.
