Add the option of liking, following, and commenting to existing ideas

Problem statement:

If I have an "idea" that has already been submitted, I am not supposed to submit it, because "New ideas should be original. Duplicate ideas will be merged and/or archived" Typically similar feedback websites for other products/services allow users to interact with existing requests by liking, commenting, clicking "I have a same problem" button, etc. Canvas ideas have no such option. I can't even "follow" an "idea", so that I would get notified if there are any changes to it.

Proposed solution:

Add the option of liking, following, and commenting to existing ideas

Please don't be discouraged by the "will not consider" status, it's just the correct status for this idea as it relates to Canvas. This idea board is for Canvas ideas only, and not the process of feedback.  

That being said, this idea is heard (loud and clear) and we agree with you. The Community team here at Instructure is continuing to work closely with the Product team as they evolve the way(s) they take in feedback.  You can find the most recent update on that project here
