What is last_activity_at enrollments API response?

Hi can someone tell me more about the field "last_activity_at" that is a part of the API response for enrollments.
// The last activity time of the user for the enrollment, in ISO8601 format.

What counts as an activity? Does a login count as an activity? Viewing a page in the course? Or is it more specific like submitting an assignment or posting on a discussion?
