Does anyone know what happened with this request: https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1124-submit-an-assignment-on-behalf-of-a-student ? Over the summer it finally said that after *years* of faculty requests it was being addressed and on the roadmap for Q4 2019. And our faculty were ecstatic!

But when I just checked back (because it's nearly the end of Q4 and I hadn't seen anything on the latest roadmap release notes) it now says--again--that it was considered, but not implemented. 

People have been asking for this basically since Canvas was created. And logically it doesn't seem difficult: we do it with LTI's and API scripts all the time. It would just be nice to have it baked in.

This seems like really, spectacularly low-hanging fruit that would make *a lot* of people happy. What gives?

I think it is coming with Assignments 2.0 — we saw the same note published and then removed. I think some delays with the new RCE getting into production has pushed back assignments 2.0 timeline.
