Canvas Credentials and Skills-Based Hiring
It’s. everywhere. Colorado, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Alaska have all dropped degree requirements for most state jobs. They’re not alone. Skills-based hiring has simply become SOP for the employers your students are going to, so higher ed is responding to that demand. (See a quick video here: T3 Network Skills-Based Hiring Explainer)
And you can expose the skills and competencies your students are acquiring by tagging them into your digital badges.
Here’s how: When you build or edit a badge in Canvas Credentials, go to the Additional Info tab, and under Skills Library, use the search bar field to find the skills represented by this badge.
Both the badge recipient and anyone who views the badge will see the skills confirmed in the badge, and each skill links out to labor market data.
