Why won't my Canvas dashboard and assignments load?

I have been using canvas regular for a couple years now and have never experienced any problems with it. A couple days ago I logged in to my Canvas account and now neither my dashboard or any of the attached assignments will load. I read some of the previous questions about this and all of the suggested solutions have not helped me. How can I fix this?

Hi  @giopoulos  Welcome to the Canvas Community!

In response to the sheer volume of browser-related questions we have been getting over the last week or so, this is a canned response so that I can help as many users as possible. The fact that this reply is canned, does not mean it is inaccurate.

It sounds like you may be using a browser that is not compatible with Canvas (maybe Internet Explorer).

Per Canvas Team on 9/3/19:

“The decision was made to redirect users accessing Canvas via IE1.  Whereas functional support had officially been removed for Canvas in July, the user experience for Canvas was no longer the quality that they had come to expect from Instructure and Canvas. Any user who now tries to load Canvas using Internet Explorer is automatically redirected to an ‘Unsupported Browser’ page and provided links to how they can upgrade to a supported Canvas browser.”

Here are some troubleshooting steps: 

• Check your device compatibility: What are the basic computer specifications for Canvas?
• Check your browser compatibility: Which browsers does Canvas support? Note that Internet Explorer 11 is not a supported browser.
• Try a different browser. The latest versions of Chrome and Firefox work great in both Windows and MacOS.
• If none of these methods solve the problem, contact Canvas Support. General instructions are in How do I get help with Canvas as a student?, but your school's support setup might vary somewhat, in which case ask your local IT Department for additional troubleshooting assistance.

If you've already ascertained that your device meets the stated requirements and that you are using a supported and up-to-date browser, you will need to submit a ticket to Canvas Support so that a support agent can have a look at what's going on. General instructions are in How do I get help with Canvas as a student?, but your school's support setup might vary somewhat, in which case ask your local IT Department for additional troubleshooting assistance.
