Upload from My Files, not Course Files

My Files is organized by folders, i.e Lectures, icons, Profile Pics, etc. Is there a way to link a document to items in My Files, instead of Course Files? I only see the option to pull from Course Files.

I don't know of any way to link to files from My Files in a course.  You can typically only link to files in the Course Files area and that is part of how access is controlled so that only students in that course have access.  But, you can organize your Course Files with folders just like you did in My Files.  In your course go to the Files tab on the left side of the page and you'll see where you can manage and organize your course files.
