Unable to get pairing code even following the FAQ sheet provided

Can anyone help me with how to create a pairing code so I can observe my sons school year? I have read the faq sheets, but there is not an option on his account to create a pairing code. 

Is there a step we are missing? Is this something that has to wait until his courses are loaded on his account? 

For the love of all goodness - HELP! PLEASE!

I found out how to get the pairing code this morning by going to my student's account, settings. On the right of the screen there is a pair with observer button.  When you click that, you get the code.  I just don't know what to do with it from there.
