Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Hello.
I downloaded Canvas-LMS from AWS Marketplace. I want to use the new analytics, but it doesn't show up anywhere. I checked and it doesn't show up by default. It seems I need to set it up, but I can't find a place to set it up.
Where do I have to set it up to get it to appear?
Postscript.
I have turned on new courses and user analytics in my account settings. But I can't see the links for both global navigation and course navigation.
The problem might be the "hidden" icon on it.

Hi @shiihara
I am guessing you are using the Free-for-Teachers version of Canvas which has limited administrative functionality. The New Analytics function will load, but will not provide you with any data until after you have student activity in your course. What is New Analytics?
If your navigation menus are disappearing, it is most likely because you are using an outdated web browser. What are the browser and computer requirements for Canvas?
I hope this is helpful,
Kelley

Thanks for the answer, Kelley.
1) Unfortunately, I didn't see anything in the AWS marketplace description that said it was a Free-for-Teachers Canvas (that's the version from 8/16/2020)
2) I tried the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox as my browser. Both are the same.
3) The student did not finish the course. Does the link appear in the navigation if I don't finish the course?
Thank you for sharing your new perspective.
2020/09/28: Completing the assignment did not change it.
I'd like to clarify if the lack of analysis is due to the August 16, 2020 version or if I have to contract with Instructure, Inc. to get support for the setup.
Hi Kelley
Is the marketplace version of AWS a Free-for-Teachers version?
Do we need a paid subscription to use your analytics?
If so, it's solved. Please check.
Thank you.
