Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
We are planning to use Canvas Quizzes as our homework system. Because students haven't had much practice before doing this, we would like to give them multiple attempts at these problems. Also, this is a college math based course, so we created homework problems that are formula problems and there are 12 problems on the homework. If they miss questions 3, 7,11, can we make it so they only have to redo the ones they missed or do they have to redo all of them?
Hello @ulstad_2 . This idea is up for voting, (see https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/4709-new-quizzes-carry-forward-correct-answers-on-quiz-multipl...). It has been up for awhile, but makes great sense.
Far down in the comments, you'll find a work-around from @erika_pesek .
The Chrome Extension "Form Vault" is a nice workaround one of our students discovered. We allow students multiple attempts on homework assignments for an accuracy grade. Form Vault will save their responses from an attempt. Students can then try another attempt and Form Vault will populate all their previous answers. Students will then only have to change the answers they know are incorrect from their first attempt. We were so happy to find this for our students since CANVAS has not addressed this request from teachers.
I hope this helps!
If you are referring to Form Vault filing in the answers, then the answer would be no(my guess). it is going to provide answers that were saved from the previous attempt. If the quiz is taken again and random numbers are assigned in the problems, then the students will have to re-do all of the problems.
