Question Bank Questions Shared in Commons

Original Topic Title: Can a quiz that pulls questions from a question bank be shared in Commons?

If so, would the quiz and question bank be imported into a course from Commons?

I don't really have an answer for you, but I am going to share your question with a few Instructure employees who might be able to shed some light on this for you in hopes they'll come here to reply.

I'm going to move this question out of the Find Answers​ area and into the Canvas Commons​ area.

I believe the quiz can be shared, but individual question banks cannot. Currently, if you add questions to a quiz (either by copying from a question bank or creating the question from scratch within the quiz) then those questions will copy when you share the quiz to Commons. At this time, if you set up the quiz using question groups (i.e. take 15 questions, each worth 1 point from XYZ question bank) then those questions will not copy into Commons along with the quiz.

However, you can submit a feature idea in Canvas Commons​ and suggest options related to quizzes/question banks.

I shared a quiz with question groups to the Commons and imported it to another course and the questions copied over.  However, many people who have adopted Canvas on our campus are disappointed that we cannot share question banks to Commons.

We just tested the feature of copying over quizzes that were link to question banks. When you import the entire course into your blank shell, quizzes do retain their links to the question banks. Was this feature just updated and fixed in commons?

Is this still the best way to share quizzes based on question banks? Import the entire course?  @kevins ​, do you have any other ideas?

Some of our faculty have created huge question banks that they do not want to recreate.  What would you recommend as a better solution to import a quiz relying on these question banks?

Use the Import Content, Selected Content feature.  Instructors can import selected quizzes and question banks.  Careful not to copy more than once from the same course.  e.g. copy from course A to course B only once.  Tend to see stability issues if you copy more than once.

Test Banks cannot be shared to Commons.  Canvas does not have this feature yet.

How many times can a question bank be copied to other courses? For example above, it mentions that there is an issue copying from course A to course B more than once. But is it ok to copy from course A to course C, and D?
