Hi Angela,
Microsoft stopped developing Internet Explorer with the release of Windows 10 and has not officially supported is since 1/12/2016 (over 3 years ago) Internet Explorer Web Browser End of Support - Microsoft 365 . No one should be using Internet Explorer at this point as is a not secure at all or compatible with many web sites.
With the release of Windows 10, Edge became the default Windows web browser Although in the last month Microsoft release a new version of Edge based on the Google Chrome web browser. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge. So in a nutshell, if you really want to use a Microsoft web browser you should be using Edge, and if you use the New Edge you are basically use Google Chrome which tends to be the best browser to use with Canvas (IMHO).
Cheers,
Rick
