New video methods do not work well

So, as an ASL teacher I have uploaded, inserted etc...videos many times flawlessly.  Now I can't get the google link to auto-inline open... and if I use the file through canvas files (which requires me to download to computer then upload into canvas files) only a gray box shows up and each time I refresh the page that video is automatically downloading to my computer.

Not sure what the thinking was on the video updates...but the way it was worked much better... 

What is going on with this?  I could not find any new documentation on this.

I have the same question!!!!!   When I tried to use the Upload/Record Media function, I am able to access my files to seemingly upload.  However when I go back later to try to view after saving, there is no video there.  HELP!!!
