Is there a way to see who viewed the video or clicked on the canvas assignment link from the back end?

We are using online learning and many teachers are sharing videos for students to watch instead of them watching them in a physical classroom. Other than posting an assignment/questions etc. for to students to respond to after watching the videos, is there another way to see who viewed the video or clicked on the Canvas assignment?

Hi rpsimon
Yes, New analytics can get you there, to a certain degree. It will tell you your students viewed the page, but not specifically if they watched the video or just navigated there.
Learn how at How do I view analytics for an individual student in New Analytics? Lots more good stuff in the New Analytics chapter of the Instructor Guide.
If New Analytics has not been turned on at your school, this lesson in the legacy Analytics will help https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10297-how-do-i-view-analytics-for-a-student-in-a-course
