External URLs Not Connecting

I am in the process of creating my modules and I have added multiple external URLs from different sites. Unfortunately, when I add any external URL other than YouTube I get an error message example: "www.cnbc.com refused to connect". I am using Chrome and the site setting for YouTube are the same as they are for the sites that won't connect. I have also tried to access the links in Safari and they are not working. The only way that I can get them to load properly is to add the video the Canvas Studio or select "Load in a New Tab" when adding the external URL. I would like to just paste the external URL into the popup window, like I do for YouTube videos, and not have to go through excess steps. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
