Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
In the page https://openstax.org/details/books/calculus-volume-3?Instructor%20resources
there is a section
This course cartridge, created by the California Community Colleges' Online Education Initiative, integrates your OpenStax books and resources into the Canvas learning management system.
After clicking on Go I reach to the page https://lor.instructure.com/login where
(since I have no login with Facebook) but Already have a Canvas login? I click
Login, then a question pops up
I choose from the list canvas.instructure.com, where the following error message
appears
{"errors":[{"param":"server-error","msg":"There was an error"}]}
Any help is appreciated.
Sandor
p.s.: this question is posted in openstax also.

Hi Sandor,
I haven't tried integrating with openstax, but the https://lor.instructure.com/login link is trying to log you into Canvas Commons. Normally, that authentication is passed through from Canvas, and I've seen similar error messages when connecting to Commons when I haven't yet authenticated to Canvas.
Try logging into your regular Canvas server first, then see if you get the same error message from openstax.

After logging into regular Canvas server it works like a charm.
I think your help may help others.

I am logged in to regular Canvas and still getting the same error message as above. Is there any more help for this?
The link to the question response is no longer active. Can someone share a new link to the response or outline how to upload an Openstax cartridge into an institutional canvas account? There are a number of instructors encountering this same problem but I've not yet found an effective work around. Thank you!
Hello @JeffreyEble ...
That link is pointing to the old Canvas Community website, and Instructure moved to a new Community platform last Summer. Unfortunately, some links don't re-direct like they should. But, often you can find the new link by hovering over the link and looking at the URL at the bottom of your browser window. This may give you an idea of what the title of the page was in the old Community website. So, the page that @Stef_retired had linked to is now located at:
Solved: What happened to Canvas Commons? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Hopefully this will help you out. Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
