Hi, Dale. To display something along with the numeric grades, you will need a grading scheme. Check out What are grading schemes? I see you've asked this question in another post as well so I will comment there to link back to this post.

I have the same problem, and grading schemes are not the cause. I have a grading scheme for my course: Canvas will show *me* a letter grade for every student, but in student view it will not reveal that information for the test student even when I enter scores.
I have faculty that want to use the Letter Grade or the GPA score grading options but they DON'T want students to see the score that was issued. Is there any way to not show students the score and to only show students the rating or letter grade they received? For example: on a Pass Fail scoring scheme Pass may be 80 - 100. Students may receive any score within that range and still receive a Pass. The faculty just want the students to see Pass, not the score they received.
I have the same question as Amanda. Is it possible to only show the scheme to the students only
