Emails from the Canvas Inbox are your best best. However, in some districts, not all families are registered as an observer.

When working from the Inbox, you can select all Observers or single Observers.

When you send a message to more than one individual, make sure to check the box for individual messages. That way, when they reply, it's private. Otherwise, any reply from any recipient acts like a reply-all.
