How do i uninstall some of the external apps that I have previously installed?  I am not ready to use them and I don't want what the students to see all cluttered on the left hand size of the screen.

You can go to the Course Settings > Apps > View App Configurations. Anything you've installed has a gear icon where you can remove the application. Tools added by your admin cannot be removed.
