Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
We are switching from Kaltura and we have been able to automatically have all of the cloud Zoom recordings automatically go into Kaltura. Is this possible with Studio? What I'm asking is if Zoom and Studio are both active in Canvas, is it possible for recordings to go directly into Studio without having to manually download from Zoom and then upload them to Studio?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Good evening, @CMWilson ...
I have some great news for you! It's now possible to automatically move Zoom cloud recordings over to Canvas Studio. This new capability was released earlier this month, and you can find more details in the Studio Release Notes (2022-01-03) - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com).
Also, here are a couple Guides for you that will also be of help:
I'll modify my earlier response in this thread because this is now possible in Canvas. I hope this will be of help to you.
Good evening, @CMWilson ...
To my knowledge, this is not possible. We also have Zoom integrated with our Canvas environment, and we also have Studio. I've not seen anything in either the Zoom admin settings or within Canvas that would let you automatically transfer Zoom recordings to one's Studio library. ☹️
Sorry that I don't have better news for you, but I hope this helps to answer your question.

Thank you @Chris_Hofer for the news! It is very exciting. I had actually heard about this a couple of days ago and have been trying to get it set up in my school's system. I used the How do I configure my institution's Zoom app to send cloud recordings to Canvas Studio? instructions and I think everything is fine except for the "Redirect URL for OAuth field [1]" I have tried several different addresses there, and nothing works. I have reached out to support, but they are unfamiliar. I emailed support and am waiting for a response. If you get yours working, I'd love to hear what you put. I tried our Canvas address, it didn't work. Is it supposed to be a Zoom address? It just isn't clear.
Hi @CMWilson ...
While we have Zoom integrated with our Canvas environment, a decision was recently made not to implement the new Zoom cloud recordings to Zoom piece. Our college has been moving to Microsoft Teams for staff and student communications, and I'm not sure if we'll be continuing our Zoom subscription or not. So, I won't be able to provide any insights on the setup, unfortunately. Good luck in your setup, though!
Hi @CMWilson ...
Checking in with you again. Were you able to get this integration working at your school? Just curious...as I was looking at the instructions again in the Canvas Guides.
