Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Everything I developed in Canvas is now apparently gone. All the courses I set up and homework I graded are gone. Why was this done? All that is left is a shell without content. Baylor, why did you do this to faculty? If you think I am going to spend many weeks learning how to use this monstrosity, you are mistaken.
Al;l I want to do at this point is find out how to use WebEx or Zoom in this setup? Can someone tell me how to do it?

Now I am receiving multiple copies of the response emails from some Canvas source. I got 4 emails because of the simple post I made.
Your link was a general one just to Canvas. Useless. Please do not send anything if it is not responsive and useful.

As I stated, you have posted your question in the Canvas Community public forum. We are not Instructure employees or Baylor employees. We have absolutely no idea what your school was doing or the support options they offer. The link that I sent you was a link to the Baylor Canvas support site. If you looked at that site you would have seen links for:
Canvas Support - https://www.baylor.edu/canvas/index.php?id=865114
Canvas Training - https://www.baylor.edu/canvas/index.php?id=870926
As well as Live Chat, a phone number to call and an email support link:
You asked for help from a public forum and received information that was found on your schools Canvas Support site. I am sorry if you feel that this information is not useful.

Hey, @walter_wilcox . I wouldn't worry that all your work is gone yet. I agree with Robbie that you should definitely reach out to your school because it's likely not gone but rather some administrative action changed your access to specific Canvas course shells. When I was a Canvas administrator this would happen to faculty sometimes when we cross-listed a course and faculty weren't alerted that it would move them to a new Canvas course shell. Their content was still in the previous course but I had to help copy it over for them. It may be something else as well but your school will be able to help you get it figured out.
Hi @walter_wilcox ,
As @Robbie_Grant and awilliams pointed out, none of us are going to know the specifics of what happened at your school. I will share that at my school we've seen a lot of courses disappearing and the reason is that our Registrar is changing lots of section numbers to reflect changes in course delivery method due to the pandemic. The section number is part of the course id in our instance of Canvas so when it changes in the SIS, it has a ripple effect in Canvas.
The good news is that even if deleted your local Canvas admins can easily bring back all of the content. Check with them and hopefully they'll get it all restored for you in an jiffy.

Please stop sending me emails!!!!! I have now about 15 emails on this. I am sorry I sent or posted anything. STOP!!!!!!
