[ARCHIVED] Why is embedded video (from file) disappearing during page edit?

I have embedded videos from my computer in my course pages that work just fine while viewing the page.

Example:

When I go to edit the page, the video disappears:

It's even gone in HTML editor:

I have used this feature for years without issue. So far, I have tried simple fixes like restarting Canvas, my browser, and my computer and clearing my browser cache.

Any ideas?

I too discovered this error today and is exactly as above.

You can upload and embed an image, save the page and video plays. As soon as you do further edits on the page the video disappears when you next save.

I have just put in a Canvas support request about this, so will wait and see what is happening.

Precisely the same for me as well.  I was encouraged to see that I was not the only one but equally curious as to a solution!  Thanks to others for sharing.

I am having the same problem, I have copied over a page with embedded videos from a different course and as soon as I edit it all the embed videos disappear.

Within the last hour, I am no longer experiencing this issue! I hope this is the case for everyone else as well.
