[ARCHIVED] Using the canvas lms mobile app with a WP-LMS backend

Hi

I have my business running on a WP-LMS system. Now, I am thinking of building a mobile application for my business. I have used canvas lms android application in the past and I am really impressed with the user experience. I am trying to understand which of the following would be the best scenario to go about:

1. Build a new mobile application ground up for my current lms system

2. Use the canvas mobile application and get it to speak to the existing backend infra

3. Change the existing backend infrastructure to canvas and use the canvas mobile application. 

My current lms system also exposes all necessary APIs. I am more interested in going down the second option. But I am not very sure on how hard it will be to get the canvas lms application application to talk to my existing backend infrastructure.

This is out of my area of expertise, but I would suggest you look at the open-source version of the Canvas Student app. It might be easier to customize your experience from the open-source version rather than adjusting the current production version:
