[ARCHIVED] Uploading graded assignments in pdf format

I had my students upload reports in pdf format in the Assignments folder.  I downloaded the file, unzipped it, and used Adobe Reader to insert comments and scoring into each student's document. So now I have about 100 such files. I understand that I can zip all of these individual student files back up and upload them in the Assignments folder using the re-upload submission button. I presume Canvas then distributes these to each student.  However, I was told I could also do this on an individual student basis using Speedgrader, by attaching my commented and scored pdf file to the comments area, done for each individual student.  Is all of this correct and are there tricks or issues I should be aware of when attempting either approach?
