[ARCHIVED] Trouble Importing from a Canvas Course Export Package

I''m trying to import content that I received from a teacher in another state. He provided me with the imscc file linked below.

I tried importing int a brand new class, all content, it takes about 18 minutes to upload, then it says "running" then it almost immediately Fails and says unsupported content package.

I've been trying for weeks...

Hello there, @rsevilla ...

I am sorry to see that your question has been sitting out here for quite some time without a response.  I have a couple questions for you as it relates to your course as this course export file you received...

1. Does the course you are trying to import the IMSCC file into contain any other content ... such as other files, content pages, assignments, etc. that may have been created in the course prior to wanting to import this file?
2. More importantly, do you know the size of the IMSCC file that you are trying to import?  Does that file size exceed your allowed course size limit?  When you go to your course "Settings", you might be able to view the maximum file storage of your course.  (See the section on "View File Storage" in How do I set details for a course? - Canvas Community.)  You mentioned that the file was taking several minutes to upload and then fails.  This may be because the IMSCC file you are trying to upload is larger than the allowed file storage of your course.  If you are not able to change the file storage of your course, you might want to check with your school's local Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to see if they would be willing to increase that for your course.  If they give you plenty of extra space, then hopefully that IMSCC file will upload successfully for you.
