Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I gave my students assignment this week to research a peer reviewed article on a given topic, write a summary of the article in a text entry box, then attach their article. When my students attempted to do this, their text entries were submitted, but the article did not attach. Is it possible to write a text entry and attach an article, then submit the two at the same time, or do the students have to do so in two steps (text entry, then article)?
Margi,
Yes, they can - at least on desktop (I just tested it).
Hope that helps.
Those are exactly the directions I gave my students and it doesn't work. And of course, half of them didn't read the announcement with the work-around, so I'm either missing articles, missing text entries or they've put one or the other in the assignment comments. Argh.
The confusion might be that they are submitting twice to that assignment for both items to appear.
Two ways that I can see this assignment being facilitated:
That seems to be the only way. I spoke with out instructional designers, and they concurred, so I adjusted my directions. It's a shame; we're forever asking students to upload media files to Arc that are included in lesson plans, and the double-submission just makes for headaches and errors.
