[ARCHIVED] Suspicious Accounts

I have come across 6 unusual accounts in our People list and wondering if anyone else has experience with this?  Incidentally, I have opened a support case on this but thought I would check here as well.  Are these illicit accounts or a part of third party app integration?

Can you first check with Des Moines Public Schools to see if there is a problem with the Catalog configuration or SIS integrations?

Hi, Kelvin.  Actually, I AM Des Moines Public Schools.  🙂

We are aware of no Catalog config or SIS integration issues.  L2 support is calling these "Spam" accounts.  I'm waiting for more information from them on the account origin.  Apparently, they were created back in March and are often created during Self Registration, which we have turned off.  L2 doesn't seem overly concerned and are willing to remove on their end.  None of the accounts have ever logged in to our Canvas instance, either.

I have actually found another thread on this topic which I was unable to locate yesterday.  Looks like we have the same issue.
