[ARCHIVED] Students not showing in email contacts list

I am trying to email my students in a course.  When I look at "People" in my course it shows 20 students enrolled.  When I go to the "Inbox" and select the course it shows "1" enrolled.  Also I still tried to send an email and then I received the message "Invalid Recipients".  The course is valid, not published, but I need to send an email out to students BEFORE the course opens.  What is the problem?

 @nhilbun , greetings! Until the course is published you can't message students using the Canvas Inbox. You can, however, publish the course, and students won't be able to access it until the actual start date of the course.
