Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Hi, @beverly_owen , I apologize that no one has responded to your question before now. Yes, a green check mark should display for students next to completed module requirements, as detailed in How do I view Modules as a student? (for students); when the instructor sets requirements and prerequisites on module items and modules, they will also be able to track students' progress (How do I use modules to view the progress of students in a course?). Are your students still experiencing issues with this?
@whitney_clay , without being able to look at the settings for that module and for the individual components within it, it's impossible to say why the check marks are only appearing for some items. I'm not sure if your school has an eLearning department that can inspect this directly, or if your Help menu includes direct links to Canvas Support 24/7 phone and chat support, so look there first. If not, I was able to find a page of contact links for students that might also get you closer to the help you need with this.
Thank you so much, Stephanie! I called Canvas support today and learned what my (and my students') issue was. When setting up the "Complete All Items" module requirement, I had not added every one of the items in the module to that list. I had assumed that checking "complete all items" meant that all items would be required. Now I understand how to use this feature properly, and I understand it is set up this way because an instructor may not want to require every item in the module. Each item must be added manually, and I needed to pull open the window to see the list of the items. See the images below. The first was before I expanded it, and in the second you can see the items as well as "+Add requirement" at the bottom.
