[ARCHIVED] Student Access Denied: Embedded Google Doc External Link

I have embedded a Google doc into an assignment that I have created using the external tool option instead of the HTML.  The problem is that when I log in to my child's Canvas account (he's also my student) and try to access the document (using Google Chrome and Google account has been linked) it says REQUEST ACCESS.  I have had success using a different browser in that it opens in another window, allows me to edit and submit for grading but we've already asked the parents to link this and switch that that I don't have the heart to add one more thing to set this up.  I just want it to work.  Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue but it's not all my students, out of 150, about 20 of them this is happening too?
