Hello,
I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone knew a way to use an essay question in Canvas to have a student show work for STEM in conjunction with some app to show work on a problem.
In short, how to use a whiteboard app within the Canvas quiz to have students write answers with a pen tablet that gets converted to an image and inserted into the quiz without the student having to upload the exam/open software outside of the quiz window?
We have an idea on how to use a similar method to this with certain tools like EquatIO, but this has certain limits (predictive text is only so accurate and still requires student to do LaTeX coding within the question; some of our students would struggle with this).

Hello, At this time the student will see a template form they can fill out if it's essay type here https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-create-an-Essay-quiz-question/ta-p/909, however, there is not an option for an external tool such as a whiteboard. You can post the idea here https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Idea-Conversations/idb-p/ideas
