Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
A student is claiming that they never received notification via Canvas that the instructor of one of their courses made comments in the comments tab (I'm assuming in the Speed grader area) about their not having submitted their work. I'm wondering if that's possible. How are students notified when instructors give feedback in Speed Grader? Do they have to check on that themselves?
Solved! Go to Solution.
They will see in the list of graded assignments the icons that indicate that a rubric has been completed and that comments have been made as well. So even if they don't sign up for the notifications, they should still know what feedback type the student has. There should be no reason that the student doesn't know about feedback unless they don't look for it. If we are talking high school age, that is the most common reason.
@clmckoy ,
The only thing that would cause them to not receive the notification is if the student had turned off that specific notification, which is definitely a possibility. We always get claims by students that they do not get notifications, unless you open a ticket with Support, there really is no way to tell if they received one.
