Several teachers that I support have found that while in the app, students can access navigation links that are hidden in their course. For example, the assignments tab is hidden in their course navigation but students can still access it in the app.

There was an update to Canvas Student. 6.13.1 was released on September 13. It looks like the issue you were experiencing was addressed.

- Added missing items to schedule view in homeroom.

- Fixed course recent activities page listing activities from other courses.

- Fixed sequential module requirements.

- Fixed invited user state disappearing from people list.

- Fixed student view side menu student details.
