[ARCHIVED] Looking for feedback on Canvas Data Storage Practices

At Washington State University we are attempting to determine if we will need to export/archive Canvas Course Data for long term purposes. Our Canvas rep informed us that we are allotted 500MB per FTE. I am wondering:

  • Are other schools concerned with their storage total?
  • Do other schools ever delete their older courses?
    • If so, when?
  • How many years of course data do they retain in Canvas?
  • If they do delete content, do they archive and store it in the cloud?
  • What tools do they use to export the content?
