[ARCHIVED] Is the Video in the New Rich Text Editor saved as a file?

I have teachers who record a video to show on the course homepage. Sometimes, they want to change that video without creating a new page, but later they want to go back to the older video. Are the videos they record saved as files in the course somewhere to access or restore later?

Hi there, @cory_little ...

If your teachers are recording videos online using the tools that are available in Canvas, I believe those videos are stored on some sort of media server and not within the course...so as not to take up space in the course "Files" for other documents that students might need throughout the semester.  I am not aware of any way to edit a video in Canvas once it is created...unless you are creating the video via Canvas Studio...but not everyone has purchased that add-on product from Instructure.

@cory_little  Subsequent to these posts, Instructure Canvas changed how it handles media files. Videos that an instructor records through the Rich Content Editor (RCE) is stored in the instructor's course files in the Uploaded Media folder.
