Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I've been trying to create a COLLABORATIONS document but am getting an error message that integration with my google account failed. I checked SETTINGS and have Google Drive LTI IAD-Prod listed there.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I was struggling with this problem for hours when on Firefox. When I
finally switched to Chrome, it all worked. Google!!! Figures.
Thank you for trying to help.

HI @magdag Welcome to the Canvas Community.
I love Collaborations. But have learned that getting started with them is often troublesome.
I use Microsoft but am hoping that what I have to share might be similar for Google.
First I needed to have logged in to Microsoft Office 365 in one tab and Canvas in another, I assume you would be similar with your Google account.
Then back in the Canvas tab start your new Collaboration. It just seems to be the first one that is a bit sticky.
The users at the other end of your Collaboration might find the same challenge, so letting them know first will help a lot.
I hope that helps.
Sing out if you need a hand.
Thank you for replying to my question, Bobby. I did what you wrote many times: clicked on collaborations, clicked on ADD, but then it tells me to :
You need to authorize this integration in order to use it.
Please sign in to your Google account and authorize this integration.
I AM signed into my google account and to my google drive and to my google docs in other tabs, and it keeps telling me each time that authorization failed. I didn't have this problem last semester weh I was using Collaborations.
Hi @magdag , this sounds frustrating. AND unusual, as you say it worked fine previously.
I assume you have followed the instructions according to this guide? How do I create a Google Docs collaboration as an instructor?
The following Notes may be helpful.

I'm so relieved. AND a tad embarrassed that checking browsers wasn't an option to try.
Good on you for solving the challenge.
May you have many happy Collaborations from here on in.
This issue with Firefox sounds like it is related to cookies. I normally block third-party cookies and take advantage of some of the other privacy features in Firefox, but it does break certain websites and I've had to unblock certain cookies with Google and Canvas before. I've also turned off my ad blocker for Canvas.
I checked on my Google Drive and Google Docs and Canvas shows on both
