Is there a way to get inbox messages back after you delete them? If so, how?

There is a fix for that outlined here Deleted inbox message by mistake 

 @kona ‌ says:

 the default is that Inbox messages are forwarded out to an external email, so you could also check the default external email that your messages are forwarded out to and see if it's there.
