[ARCHIVED] How to Enable Direct Share for my account

How do I enable the following so I can use the Direct Share feature? At this point it does not show up.

• Direct Share requires the Direct Share feature option, which can be enabled for an entire account.
• To share course content, you must have the Course Content - add / edit / delete permission enabled.

Hello  @kimm2  Thank You for posting your question.  Are you a Canvas administrator for your school's Canvas environment?  If not, you'll want to check with your school's local Canvas administrator about getting these features enabled for your school's Canvas environment.  Here are some Guides for you...based on your two bulleted items:

I am a Canvas Admin and am having trouble understanding where and when I would enable this feature.  Any guidance is appreciated.

At this point, I think what used to be a feature option (direct share) is now just enabled by default for everyone and no longer on the options page.  The  Canvas Feature Option Summary - Instructure Community  guide references the current list of options, and direct share is not there.  I've been a Canvas admin for over 10 years, and I honestly don't remember ever having to enable this feature manually, I think Instructure just turned it on by default a few years ago.

If you're not seeing the "send to" or "copy to" options for things like assignments or modules, you'd probably need to contact Canvas support so they can investigate what's going on.
