[ARCHIVED] How do I weight an assignment?

I want to weight 4 assignments and have the total calculate the grade.  All grades are in percentages.

2 main options as far as I know:

1. Convert to points
2. Create assignment groups (HW, quizzes, etc.) and have Canvas weight those groups. 

If you already are doing #2 and all you will not be creating anymore assignments, create a new category for these 4 assignments and do the math for what weight this new category should have.
