I'm starting back with working on CANVAS again and this time I decided to build up a Higher Education classroom using a bit of business along the way. I'm going to share a URL and hopefully persons can see this.

This is far from finished as I have just gotten started but do share your thoughts. I'm starting to build up on ideas from my graduate teaching that I have been doing since April for my current campus and learn more with CANVAS. I hope by doing this I can eventually build enough that someone will give me a chance for entry into their university. *fingers crossed*

@apageor2 , I wasn't able to view your course - it was prompting me to login and when I did it said I didn't have access to the course. Could you check the settings and make sure you've made it public?

My initial word of advice is to build your course in Modules - so add your Assignments, Files, etc all to Modules. I really like your introduction to the course, but normally this would be added to a Page in Canvas. This page could then be the Home page (so the first thing students see when they access the course) or the first page in your initial Module (in Modules).

I was able to view the course 🙂 Great job.
I agree with Kona as far as developing material within Modules. I also suggest creating a front/welcome page and link to each module (depending on how much content you have- it might lead to cognitive overload and if the first thing students come to is a long list of assignments; it could be overwhelming).
Appreciate it Sky, I'm a graduate professor with another university and can totally see your point on that matter. There's a specific layout to go by and with this particular setup I'm currently working on I would move forward to building a front page giving the syllabus and materials needed for achieving success with the course. Since I'm following data and memory by previous teaching that was just done it was a quick build but nevertheless. Your above thoughts do give me ideas on how to move forward when planning the build with future courses. I greatly appreciate the input.
