[ARCHIVED] FERPA and Free LTIs

We are able to sign a FERPA agreement for fee-based LTIs but need help on how to approach the FERPA issue with the free LTIs requiring a public level setting in Canvas. Does anyone have a recommendation?

This is a huge challenge; our department that owns and runs Canvas is separate from IT Services so we now have a process where we run any apps through them and legal. We have a list of commonly used approved apps that have been reviewed but everything else it's on the instructor/department to initiate the review process.
