Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I gave a quiz, but I don't want it to calculate into the student's grade. I can't find anything that says don't calculate in grade. I looked at quiz information, and I can't find it there either. Does someone know who can help me please? Should I change it to a survey?

Hi again, @watsokk
Unfortunately, no there isn't. There is a way to view student responses to the quizzes, but you cannot adjust the scores that they received. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12908-4152182372
Under your conditions, placing these quizzes into an assignment group with a value of zero would be the only way to accomplish what you need - it just makes your gradebook much more complex.

Is this just for one student or the whole class? If it's for the whole class, you can go to Assignments and move that specific quiz to a new category that is worth 0%.
It is for the whole class. I don't see a category for the quiz. I don't know how to create categories, only assignment groups. Are you referring to Infinite Campus? I know I can check a box on Infinite Campus to not count a grade into the student's final grade. I don't see to be able to have the option of scoring a quiz under Practice Quiz, and I need to be able to do award partial points. Thank you so much for your reply! I really appreciate it!
I meant a new assignment group that is worth 0%. Any quizzes you place under that assignment group will not affect the students final grade.
Hi @watsokk
You could also make it a Practice Quiz, and then it won't even create a grade column in the gradebook.

So I tried toggling to practice quiz, but then I don't see a Speed Grader which allows me to adjust points. They are short answer questions, and I'm looking for key words. It ties in with my SLG, so I need to be able to score it. Is there a way to score a Practice Quiz?
