At our University, we're in the process of updating our course template in Canvas as well as creating a style guide that will be used for all online courses.  For the Style Guide we have categories such as Use of Text, Multimedia content, uploaded content, and HTML style elements.  For the template there are many components such as home page, welcome page, Syllabus page, course navigation, etc.    Many of the elements are blending together.  Can anyone help us distinguish between the two?

A styleguide is typically going to be colors, fonts, components, and general look, feel and user experience... branding...

template incorporates the standards chosen for the style guide in page/content mockups.
