[ARCHIVED] Course changed to needing a code for those without canvas accounts

Last May or June, I set up an ongoing online training in Canvas for small groups of volunteers needing to do an orientation before volunteering at my non-profit.  I have one volunteer that does not have a Canvas account and it wants him to have a course code to join.  I already added him to the course with his email, so I'm not sure why this is happening.  Is there a way to fix this problem?  I have had other volunteers create a Canvas account to do the training, and we didn't have this problem.
