[ARCHIVED] Copying rubrics

I have a verbal communication rubric that I use for presentations in various classes.  I want to copy that rubric and add additional criteria specific to each assignment.  Since we can't edit a rubric that's used multiple places - I think this is my solution.  Is this possible?  If not, is there any work around other than manually retyping into a new rubric?

this has been addressed in other questions, but I did not find the one I wanted that I know is out there.  these other solutions talk of various methods.

What I do is click on the find rubric and select one that I have already used - or in your case the starting point rubric.  Then I edit the rubric and change the name.  The trick here is to make sure the rubric that you want to copy is not in your current course.  So If you have a rubric in another course then you can select it when you go to create the rubric.  That brings it into your course and you can rename it.  (edit: note this is done from the assignment when you go to add a rubric and you want to select a rubric that is out there in another course.  it is not done from the rubrics navigation link)

It is not a perfect solution, but if you have a course you can put your base rubric in, then you just pull it in to start each of your new rubric, change the name and then add in the additional criteria.
