Hi,
I need to create a rto style observation sheet I need it as simple as possible for it to be used in class. Ideally just a checkbox list that teachers tick off that are not rubrics.

Rubrics, as they currently exist, cannot be easily used as "answer keys." The problem is that once the Rubric is attached to an Assignment or a Discussion, the description of the "ratings" is visible to students. That means that the students would be able to see the answers before they submit their work.
There is a "hack," and that is to click the little box that says "I'll write free-form comments when assessing students." It's inelegant, but it works.

More flexible rubrics is an Idea that was submitted last week for consideration. I feel that these conversations are related! If it matches your needs, I encourage you join the discussion and rate (star) the idea.
