If I create a course in Canvas as a book study, can I duplicate the course for other schools?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @jgraber Welcome to the Canvas Community. Yes, you can do this by first exporting a Canvas course site, as covered here: How do I export a Canvas course? and save the file somewhere. Then, you can import it at the other institution--assuming they are also on Canvas--by following these instructions: How do I import a Canvas course export package?
If this does not cover everything in your specific scenario, scan through some of the other helpful online lessons in this general area of the online instructor's guide.
I hope this helps, Julie!

Hi Ken,
I posted this question on the Canvas community but haven't received a response. Can you answer this question for me? I am starting to use Canvas to create a course using a book study so I am wondering what type of license should I select when setting up the course. Thanks in advance!
Julie
@jgraber , could you specify what additional information you are seeking beyond Ken's advice?
Hi Stephanie,
How do I know which content license to choose for a book study?
Private ~ Copyrighted
Public Domain
CC Attribution
CC Attribution Share Alike
CC Attribution Non-Commercial
CC Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike
CC Attribution No Deriatives
CC Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives
Thanks!
@jgraber , this document about Canvas Commons should help you decide which content license is appropriate: What types of content licenses are available in Commons?
Veering off slightly from this question: if I were embarking upon this project, I'd first run it past my school to make sure they allow content created at their school to be used at a different school.
