As I was taking a math quiz, the (correct) answer for one question was 0.  When I moved on, however, it showed the question as unanswered.  It seems like it is unable to distinguish between a null value and a 0.

I teach computer science and have a lot of fill in the blank questions where the answer is 0 but canvas treats the question as unanswered.

Students go into panic and send me messages in the middle of an exam thinking their answer doesn't count.

Please count 0 as an answer for fill in the blank questions.

I have exactly the same issue.

My instruction to students is to type zero for 0.
