Can an assignment be placed into more than one assignment group? For example- a reading and response to both Geography and History can they be scored in both groups under the same assignment?

Hi Mark,

Assignments can only go into one assignment group on the assignment page. This is because Canvas uses those groups to perform calculations with things like weighted grades. Depending on your goals, you have a couple options that could be helpful:

• If you just want students to see that a particular assignment in under both geography and history, you could use Modules instead of assignment groups. Assignments can be added to multiple modules without issue.
• You could use Outcomes if you want to calculate learning achievement in multiple topics. One outcome for History and one Outcome for Geography. Assignments can be aligned with multiple outcomes.
